Baileya multiradiata

''Baileya multiradiata'' is a North American species of sun-loving wildflowers native to the deserts of northern Mexico and the Southwestern United States. It has been found in the States of Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Aguascalientes, California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas.〔(Flora of North America, Desert marigold, ''Baileya multiradiata'' Harvey & A. Gray, Mem. Amer. Acad. Arts, n. s. 4: 106. 1849. )〕〔(Biota of North America Program 2014 county distribution map )〕〔(Calflora taxon report, University of California, ''Baileya multiradiata'' Harv. & A. Gray ex A. Gray. desert marigold )〕
Although called a desert marigold, it is only a remote relative of the marigolds (Tagetes spp.). ''Baileya multiradiata'' is a short-lived perennial to annual that forms a clumping patch of silvery-green foliage which bears many tall, naked stems, each topped with a bright yellow daisy-like flower head. 〔
